Join historians Ted Alexander and Dr. Mark Snell for this unique tour of little known and seldom visited sites associated with the Battle of Gettysburg and the Gettysburg campaign.

We’ll begin the weekend Friday night at 8 PM with two lectures concerning various aspects of the great battle of Gettysburg. Dr. Richard Sauers, a noted authority on the battle, will discuss Confederate controversies and     Dr. Mark Snell will tell you about lesser known actions of the battle.

On Saturday, with Ted Alexander we’ll visit Prospect Hall, in Frederick, Maryland, where Gen. Meade took command of the Army of the Potomac. We’ll travel the “roads to Gettysburg” with the I and XI Corps and visit the Sachs covered bridge. In addition, we’ll take you to the scene of the cavalry engagement at Fairfield, visit the Cashtown Inn and view some other sites outside of the town of Gettysburg.

On Sunday, with Dr. Mark Snell we’ll hike to Neill Avenue, the extreme right flank of the Army of the Potomac, stop at the “First Shot Marker,” visit Coster Avenue, where a mural depicts the stand of the 154th New York Volunteers, Benner’s Hill,  Iverson’s Pits, the Bliss Barn site and many other many other seldom visited sites on the Gettysburg battlefield.
