This tour features the incomparable Ed Bearss, regarded by everyone as the dean of Civil War battlefield tour guides. Join Ed Bearss along with Robert K. Krick, Dennis Frye and John Hennessy for this exciting tour of a series of significant battlefields made famous by Stonewall Jackson.

We’ll start the tour on Wednesday evening September 10 at 8 PM with two lectures. First, Dennis Frye, historian at the Harper’s Ferry National Site will outline Jackson’s siege at Harper’s Ferry.  And we’ll end the evening with a lecture by the Civil War historian and author Jeff Wert.

On Thursday, we’ll cover the battlefield of First Manassas  with our guide Ed Bearss, who will lead us to some sites on the battlefield which are unknown even to veteran campaigners. This will be an extensive tour with several long walks. On Friday, we’ll cover Harper’s Ferry and Antietam with Dennis Frye, who virtually grew up on the Antietam battlefield. Saturday we’ll join one of the foremost experts on Stonewall Jackson, and former chief historian at the Fredericksburg National Military Park, Robert K. Krick, for a comprehensive tour of Jackson’s daring operation at Chancellorsville. And finally, on Sunday, we’ll finish the tour with John Hennessy who will take us to Bristoe Station and 2nd Manassas.
